September 30 - October 2, 2016

The weather is not cooperating and more rain is forecast to move through this evening — wind is also a problem. Therefore, this evening’s Candlelight Vigil has been moved indoors. Please join us at 7 p.m. for the vigil at Wildwood Catholic High School, 1500 Central Ave, North Wildwood, NJ 08260. (Map: goo.gl/maps/tZJhFofprhB2) Also, because of the weather, the agencies involved in the Public Safety Expo have canceled. They had a lot of equipment, vehicles and other things to display, so the decision needed to be made early. We’re sorry for the changes! We’ll see you at 7 p.m. to honor our officers and afterward at Westy’s.

Mid-Atlantic Police and Fire Survivors' Weekend (MAPFSW) is a series of events that recognize truly forgotten heroes: the survivors of fallen law enforcement officers and firefighters, including family members and co-workers. It is a weekend in autumn when old friends get to see each other and new survivors become part of our close-knit family. This year's MAPFSW will take place from September 30 through October 2.

More details about our daily schedule and registration.

The weekend focuses on survivors from the following states: New Jersey, New York, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia. However, in past years we have honored the requests of families that reside in our region and hosted families from Georgia and Colorado, in addition to those from the Mid-Atlantic region. We are also different in that we recognize survivors from not just the current year, but those that were killed in the line of duty from the past. The event is hosted annually by the North Wildwood Police Department and is held in the seashore resort of North Wildwood, New Jersey.
